Lament

There are times when there is nothing left to do but bow beneath the weight of what we carry. Lament captures the body in that place—folded inward, head lowered, with no demand to rise, overcome, or find meaning before we are ready.

There is vulnerability in the figure’s posture, but also permission. Lament makes space for sorrow to simply exist—for grief, exhaustion, heartbreak, or the moments when words are not enough.

In sandtray work, Lament may represent grief, sorrow, loss, despair, emotional exhaustion, vulnerability, mourning, or the need to be witnessed without being asked to change what is being felt.
