Generational Healing

Generational Healing represents the connection between those who came before us, those who stand beside us, and those who come after us. The figures gathered together reflect the ways stories, experiences, wounds, strength, love, and resilience can move through generations.

If trauma can be passed down through generations, so can healing. Patterns can be recognized. Stories can be understood differently. What has been carried for generations can begin to change.

In sandtray work, Generational Healing may represent intergenerational and ancestral trauma, family patterns, attachment, belonging, cultural and family identity, inherited beliefs, resilience, breaking cycles, connection, and generational healing. It can offer a way to explore what has been inherited, what we choose to carry forward, and what we are ready to leave behind.
