Ollie the Octopus

With enormous curious eyes, curling tentacles, and just enough awkward charm, Ollie the Octopus looks like he has seen some things—and has absolutely no idea what he is supposed to do with any of them.

Ollie brings a playful presence to the tray while still offering plenty of symbolic possibilities. With eight arms reaching in different directions, he can represent trying to hold onto everything at once, being pulled in too many directions, juggling competing demands, or simply needing a few extra hands to get through the day.

Those oversized eyes add another layer. Ollie might be watching, wondering, overwhelmed, surprised, hyperaware—or taking in a world that sometimes feels much bigger than he expected.

In sandtray work, Ollie can represent overwhelm, curiosity, adaptability, multitasking, sensory overload, vigilance, feeling scattered, reaching for connection, or finding creative ways to manage a complicated world.

And sometimes...he's just an adorable little octopus with really big eyes.
