Target on My Back

This piece holds the weight of being seen in ways that feel unsafe—of carrying stories, projections, or expectations that were never yours to begin with. The figure turns inward, protective, aware of what is behind them but unable to fully face it.

The target does not define the person—it reveals the experience of vulnerability, hyper-awareness, and survival. And yet, within that awareness lives the possibility of choice: to turn, to reclaim, to redefine what belongs and what does not.

In sandtray work, this piece can represent feeling exposed, misunderstood, or targeted, as well as the beginning of reclaiming personal power, boundaries, and self-definition.
